pm CST Wright will offer the finest collection
of masterworks of the twentieth century in a series of auctions on December
3rd and 5th. Important 20th Century Design on December 3rd will showcase
objects from the early part of the century by Mallet-Stevens, Hoffmann,
Bouy, and Loos. Early modernism by Mies van der Rohe, Rietveld, and
Aalto illustrate the influence on later designers such as Kjaerholm,
Durell-Stone, and Jacobsen who are also represented in the sale. Organic
forms including a rare redwood coffee table by Nakashima, a masterpiece
of Bertoia's jewelry and Noguchi Rudder Fin dining table show the artistic
prowess of American design in the middle of the century. |
